This green dish might change your breakfast game

While most of Melbourne is settling into their smashed avocado on toast, we are taking green to a whole new level. The Green Machine Omelette is officially THE best-selling food item, each and every week.

This month, our in-house nutritionist has given us the down low on why it’s as good for you as it tastes. This wholesome dish is a nourishing, low carb meal packed with quality protein, good fats, and essential nutrients. The key ingredients which give this omelette the vibrant green colour is the healthy mix of spinach, herb and chlorophyll.

Chlorophyll is known as the ‘building blocks to life and our body’. It is the pigment in all green vegetables that helps turn sunlight into energy for plants, therefore when ingested, it is a powerhouse liquid that offers a wealth of benefits such as boosting the immune system, repairing DNA, and protecting our cells from cancer.

If that doesn’t sound wholesome enough, it is topped off with sautéed zucchini, cherry tomatoes, spring onion, and feta, with a dense slice of house-made fermented Life Bread – filled with a variety of nuts, seeds, and rolled oats.

Sample the goods at the Greenfields Albert Park Lakeside Eatery – Open Wednesday to Sunday from 8am to 4pm.
